ShiftMap is a job listing and discovery platform for the service industry. We collect minimal information, we do not sell your data, and we do not require jobseekers to create an account.

1. Who We Are

ShiftMap LLC ("ShiftMap," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at shiftmap.app and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). We are based in the United States.

2. Geographic Scope

ShiftMap is intended for use in the United States. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals located in the European Union. If you are located in the EU please do not use this Service. Our data practices are governed by applicable United States law.

From Employers

When you create an employer account or post a job listing, we collect:

Payment information is collected and processed directly by Stripe, Inc. ShiftMap does not store your credit card number, bank account details, or any other financial information. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

From Jobseekers

Jobseekers can browse and view all listings without creating an account. We do not require jobseekers to provide any personal information to use ShiftMap. Job applications are handled directly by employers — via their own career portals, email addresses, or in-person — and ShiftMap is not a party to that process and does not collect information submitted through it.

Automatically Collected Information

When you visit ShiftMap, we automatically collect limited technical information including:

This data is collected in aggregate and is used only to understand how people use ShiftMap so we can improve the service. We do not build individual user profiles and we do not track you across other websites.

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the service to function — for example, to keep you logged in to your employer account. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Analytics cookies, if used, are configured to collect only aggregate, anonymized data.

We do not use your information for advertising purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

5. Automated Content Screening

All job listings submitted by employers are subject to automated content screening before they are published. This process reads the text content of your listing — including the title, description, and apply instructions — and checks it against a set of prohibited terms and patterns. This screening is performed server-side and is used solely to enforce our Terms of Service and protect the integrity of the platform.

Listings that pass screening are published automatically. Listings that trigger a flag are held for manual review by ShiftMap staff before a publishing decision is made. You will be notified of the outcome. Automated screening does not involve any third-party AI service and your listing content is not shared with any external party for this purpose.

6. Listing Moderation

All paid job listings are reviewed by ShiftMap before they are made publicly visible. This review is conducted to ensure listings comply with our Terms of Service and are accurate and legitimate. Listings are typically reviewed within one business day of payment. We do not publish listings automatically without review.

8. Publicly Sourced Listings

Some listings on ShiftMap are sourced from publicly available information on the internet rather than posted directly by employers. These listings are clearly labeled "Publicly sourced." Information in publicly sourced listings — including contact details, pay rates, and application instructions — is collected from third-party sources and may be inaccurate or out of date. ShiftMap is not responsible for the accuracy of publicly sourced listing content.

If you are an employer and believe a publicly sourced listing contains incorrect information about your business, you can claim the listing from your employer account or contact us at listings@shiftmap.app.

9. Data Retention

We retain employer account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days as described in Section 10 below.

We retain an anonymized record of transactions — consisting of payment amounts, dates, and transaction reference numbers with personal identifiers removed — for a minimum of 5 years as required by applicable tax and financial regulations. Stripe retains its own independent payment records in accordance with their privacy policy and applicable financial law.

Aggregate and anonymized platform analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it contains no personally identifiable information.

Regarding Deletion Requests

When you request deletion of your account we will delete your personal information including your email address, business name, and account credentials within 30 days. Active job listings associated with your account will be removed from public view.

However certain records cannot be fully deleted due to legal obligations:

If you have an active listing at the time of your deletion request we will remove it from public view before processing the deletion. These retention exceptions are standard legal requirements and are not within our discretion to waive. Outside of these exceptions we honor deletion requests completely and promptly.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Your password is stored in hashed form and never in plain text. All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS. Employer accounts are protected by mandatory two-factor authentication. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which maintains PCI DSS compliance.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children's Privacy

ShiftMap is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@shiftmap.app and we will delete it promptly.

13. Third-Party Links

Job listings on ShiftMap may include links to employer career portals and other external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify employer account holders by email. Your continued use of ShiftMap after a change to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
