Description

Job Summary The service manager plays a hands on and critical role in supporting the management team by maintaining an active and visible presence on the restaurant floor. This position is designed to strengthen daily operations by ensuring exceptional guest experience, consistent service standards, and strong team support, while allowing senior managers to focus on key administrative and strategic responsibilities. The service manager is expected to work collaboratively as a team with all members of the Agora management and staff to support the success of the restaurant. Duties Floor Leadership & Guest Experience Maintain an active eye and hands on the floor, assisting service, bar, and host teams as needed. When present on the floor, check all staff side duties are being completed appropriately. Provide real-time support during service to ensure smooth operations and strong communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Lead by example with professionalism, urgency, and hospitality at all times. Observe service during peak volume and ensure all service standards and steps of service are all consistently executed. Conduct regular table touches, engaging with guests to enhance the guest experience, resolve concerns, and build guest relationships. Support problem resolution and service recovery in a calm and professional manner. Team Support & Accountability Reinforce training, procedures and expectations on the floor. Provide coaching and feedback to team members to maintain consistency and performance. Assist in monitoring employee conduct, attendance, and adherence to company standards. Promote a positive and team-focused work environment. Qualifications A minimum of three years of full-service restaurant. Experience in a high-volume and up-scale casual restaurant environment. Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations and service standards. Experience managing or leading a team (shift-lead, trainer, supervisor, etc.) Proven ability to lead with experience during high pressure service periods. Experience managing wait-lists, reservations and guest flow. Oversee dining room pacing and table turns. Strong ability to handle guest complaints professionally.
